Home Robots

These robots will make life easier for you. Like, way easier.

So relax and put your feet up. Let these hard working robots enter your home and do the dirty work for you.

iRobot Roomba

The Vacuum Cleaning Robot

Probably the most well known of home based robots is the vacuum cleaning wonder that is the Roomba series from iRobot. I have one of these and I am continually amazed at what it can do and at what it 'knows'.

First off this is one hell of a vacuum and hard surfaces. It leaves the tiles and wood floors in my house cleaner (And I have a dog that sheds a lot) than I could ever imagine. It consistently does a a really good job. Especially at getting to hard to reach places (like underneath the couch).

It's also very smart and can be contained to certain areas. You can set up invisible barriers called 'Virtual Wall Lighthouses' to keep the Roomba from wandering off. If it detects an area with a lot of dirt or hair in one place, it will stop and go in circles until it has cleaned that spot up. It's also very good at getting to every place within it's designated area. It uses what iRobot calls iAdapt Technology to get to every part of the room.

Overall it's an awesome product that gets the job done and does it amazingly great. It can be pricey but if you can afford one, buy it.

Droplet

The Robot Sprinkler

This cloud connected robot gardener aims to be the butler of your backyard.

Droplet aims to replace your outdated and behind the times sprinkler system. Set up is simple: Hook it up to your water hose, plug it in, and then configure it through your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Bam! You're done.

This little guy is way more than it seems. Configure it to water trees, plants, or add water to the doggy bowl. The cool thing is that it will help you save water annually by knowing the kind of soil and plants you have to give them just the right amount. Not to mention it will only water those areas that need water.

One more neat trick it has up it's sleeve is that since it's cloud connected, it knows the weather. It adjusts what it needs to water day by day according to the weather. Amazing!

Grillbot
